Flora Ring

$27.00

(3)

This fun ring begins as a sheet of metal that is cut into a circle. Then it is stamped by hand and a band is soldered. Next a patina is added and it is polished up to a nice reflective shine. Finally it is placed in a hand-stamped box upon request that is perfect for gifting or for adding to your own jewelry collection.

Jeweler's brass is a quality alternative to the much more expensive gold that it imitates. You can also upgrade your ring to sterling silver for a small charge. This ring is all polished up to a shiny finish for its new home but over time tarnishing will occur. A quick wipe with a polishing pad is all you need to bring life back to your ware but if you are in a bind simply submerge it in a squirt of ketchup and buff off. You can also add a polishing pad to your order under the "Add-On" Tab.

This ring is available in sterling silver or brass, please allow up to 3 weeks for your ring to be created just for you.

Want a custom ring but need it sooner? An inexpensive rush order option can be purchased through the "Add On" tab.

Care instructions

Your jewelry is finished with a water proof sealant before it ships. Over time the sealant may wear off and need additional polishing/resealing. Some ways to keep your jewelry looking sparkly and new include:

-Do not store your jewelry in a humid area such as a bathroom

-If you live in a humid climate consider storing your jewelry in an enclosed case, bag, or box to preserve the shine

-Avoid water, hand sanitizer, and chemicals as much as possible

-You can polish your jewelry easily with a polishing pad (available as an add-on) to make it look new again or if you are in a bind ketchup is commonly used. Just submerge your jewelry and buff off.

-A common home remedy to lacquer jewelry is clear nail polish

Sizing details

For sizing your fingers I definitely recommend consulting a local jeweler or purchasing a cheap ring sizer online. If you are unable to size your fingers as mentioned here are some other considerations:

The most common sizes I sell are
6 (slightly smaller than average)
7 (average)
8 (slightly larger than average)

If your fingers are very thin your size may run from 4-5
If your fingers are larger you may consider a 9-10
For men's sizing you can typically add two sizes.

You can also cut off the sticky part of a post-it note and wrap around your finger, marking where the ends meet. Measuring the post-it note in mm and converting (or messaging me) should give you a pretty accurate size.

Gift wrapping and packaging

Standard packaging for rings include a plastic capsule filled with styrofoam confetti in a hand-printed bubble mailer.

Standard packaging for necklaces include a hand stamped card-stock tag in a clear plastic protective sleeve that is shipped in a hand-printed bubble mailer.

Also available upon request (in your order notes) are hand stamped gift boxes.

For bridal parties or events feel free to message me about custom packaging for your order.

Will brass turn my fingers green?

There are many factors that affect metal such as hormones, sodium levels, and personal allergies. For that reason I can not confidently say that the brass will not turn your finger green. With that being said, it is more common that people have no reaction for the following reasons.

Brass does contain a small amount of nickel (which turns your fingers green). While I am heating the metal a lot of the nickel comes to the surface and is removed in the polishing phase. Additionally your jewelry is sealed with a water-proof wax that serves as a barrier from your skin and protects the shine of your piece.

If you are concerned about an allergy to brass you may consider sterling silver which very rarely causes a reaction.
